Description
The ladder safety course teaches workers about the importance of utilizing, inspecting, and maintaining ladders for use on the jobsite. Starting with an overview of the course, we then move into an introduction into ladder safety and cover things that workers can do to ensure that they’re mitigating ladder related fall hazards on the jobsite. Topics covered in this course include ladder inspection, setting up a ladder, and ladder safety tips.
Objectives
- Tell the difference between a step and extension ladder
- Select the appropriate ladder for the type of task being performed
- Properly inspect a ladder before use
- Properly stabilize a ladder in use
- Determine how to mitigate ladder related fall accidents on the jobsite
- Describe training requirements for safe use of ladders
