Description

The purpose of this lesson is to familiarize individuals who have physically demanding jobs (e.g. manufacturing, warehouse, hospitality, and trade workers) with the principles of back safety and injury prevention in order to help them reduce or prevent work-related back injuries. There are many reasons for employers to be proactive in reducing worker injuries, which may account for lost time, decreased productivity, and a lower quality of work.

Objectives

  • Use correct sitting and standing postures to minimize back stresses
  • Implement lifestyle and exercise choices that promote back health
  • Reduce your risk of back injuries with proper lifting and carrying practices
